Police Constable Pandit Kaasar attached to Kalaghatagi police station and and an unknown person with him were killed on the spot when they were run over by a truck near Budanal cross on Karwar road in the early hours on Wednesday.

There was heavy traffic jam with the fall of a big tree on Karwar road. 28-year-old Pandit Kaasar was assigned to clear the traffic movement. However, the constable and one among him were killed on the spot when a speeding truck truck knocked them down.
