Demanding the upraise of the reservation to 7.5% only for the Valmiki community of the scheduled tribes and to fulfill the various demands as well the Karnataka Scheduled Tribes Valmiki Workers Union held a protest at Belagavi.

The protesters that arrived hiking to the DC Office demanded for the fulfillment of various demands and held protest in front of the DC Office on Wednesday.

The angry protesters said due to the adding of other communities to the list of ST the injustice is being made to the actual STs, so they demanded for the hike in the reservation only for the valimiki communities.

The state president of the union Siddrai Shigihalli and many other officials of the union were present by the time.
