The 9th annual convocation of Rani Channamma University will be held in Suvarna Vidhan Soudha at 10.30am on March 9 (Wednesday).

At a news conference here on Monday, University Vice Chancellor M Ramchandra Gowda said Karnataka Governor Thavarchand Ghelot will preside, Higher Education minister CS Ashwat Narayanan will be the chief guest and Scientist Virendra Chavan will deliver convocation address.

Pandit Rajeev Taranath, H Sudarshan and Vadhiraj Deshpande will be honoured with Honorary Doctorate award, he said.

He said as many as 35,484 students passed degree courses, 2,739 post graduations and 188 students passed post graduate diploma courses from the university.
