Sanju Avakanavar from Shegunashi in Athani taluk retained his late father Ashok Avvakanavar’s post to Belagavi BDCC Bank by-polls from Athani APMC constituency.

The post was vacated over the death of Director Ashok Avvakannavar who died four months ago. Ten directors, one each from ten taluks of the district will vote in the election.

Apart from Sanju Ashok Avvakanavar, Patesimha Jagapat from Ramdurg, Ravindra Yaligar from Munavalli were in the fry. Counting of votes was held soon after the completion of polling. Returning Officer Ravindra Karalingannavar declared the results through a release to the media.
