Belagavi : After a huge outbreak of Covid infection at a school in Kittur Rani Chenamma school where 80 students and 10 staff have tested Covid positive on Monday, DC Mahantesh Hiremath has directed that all the schools in the district from KG to 9th standard will remain shut till January 18.

Speaking to the media after the meeting of the officials , DC Mahantesh Hiremath said that Corona cases in the district are increasing in the district.  In order to prevent the spread of coronavirus and to look after the health of the children, we have taken the decision to keep all the schools in Belgaum district closed from January 11th to January 18th.

The 10th and 11th classes are as usual.  The decision was taken after meeting with the DHO, DDPI and DDSOs.

Parents of the children also should take initiatives and provide emergency treatment.
