The car in which the thieves were escaping with the stolen sheep was overturned near Murkatihal village in Talikoti taluk of Vijayapur district on Saturday. After seeing people with sticks coming toward them, they escaped leaving the car in which a few stolen sheeps were left.

Earlier, the thieves tried to escape when a shepherd shouted after seeing them with the stolen sheep. They left toward the Doni bridge and returned as the bridge was flowing over. They saw people coming to catch them tried to go fast when the car was overturned, they fled leaving the stolen sheep in the car.

The car used to steal sheep was bearing number KA 03 – AE 2627. The Talikoti police are collecting information from the people about the gang.
