After 28 years of the demolition of the Babri Masjid at Ayodhya, a Special CBI Court on Wednesday would pronounce its verdict in the case in which many senior BJP leaders along with L K Advani, Murli Manohar Joshi, Uma Bharti and Kalyan Singh are accused.
There were total 49 accused in the case out of which 17 have died since the demolition. The Special Judge S K Yadav has directed the remaining 32 accused to be present in the court on the noted date.
A tight security has been deployed in and around the court as well as in various parts of the state in view of the verdict. A senior police official on Tuesday said ”We are taking every precautionary measure to ensure peace and tranquility in the state.”
All the accused persons, many of whom were charged with conspiracy had denied the charges and claimed that they were falsely implicated in the matter by the Congress regime. The accused persons, who have passed away, are former VHP international president Ashok Singhal, Giriraj Kishore, Vishnu Hari Dalmiya, Mahant Avaidyanath, and Maharashtra CM Uddhav Thackeray’s father Bala Saheb Thackeray.
