Belagavi : With the transfer of DC MG Hiremath due to election to two seats from the district for Legislative Council from local bodies, R Venkatesh assumed charge as new deputy commission of the district on Tuesday.

Upper DC Ashok Dudagunti welcomed the new administrative command at the DC office. Venkatesh was the Chief Secretary of newly established Kalaburagi region Kalyan Karnataka.

DC Hiremath was transferred also during last by-polls to Loksabha from Belagavi constituency.
