Since an year the cases of bike theft cases in Athani and Kagawad taluk have been raising, in such case when a person riding bike without proper documents was inquired he revealed of purchasing the bike at low rate. When stirred the sources it is found that a person who used to sell the stolen bikes in Kokatnur village stolen from Belagavi, Bagalkot and some other places of Maharashtra has been found.

The accused is found to be the resident of Ramajan Husensab Ainapur, of Shirahatti village of Athani taluk. The accused used to sell bikes at low prices assuring of getting the documents within 10-15 days.

The operation was held under the guidelines of SP Lakshman Nimbargi and Additional SP Amarnath Reddy and under the charge of Athani DYSP S V Girish and CPI Shankargouda Basangoudar with the lead of PSI M D Ghori by ASI V G Aarer and the officers A A Erkar, P B Nayak, M B Dodamani J B Talwar, S K Nemgouda team. 15 bikes been stolen since 2 -3 years have been costing around 5 Lakhs have been detained and the accused has been arrested.
