On Thursday, Belagavi North BJP MLA Anil Benake had a different experience where he was circled by dozens of angry women who took him to task over not maintaining his assurance of providing basic amenities till his tenure.

The women from the localities of Vidhyagiri, Basava colony, and Vaibhav Nagar blocked the traffic on the busy Bauxite road on Thursday morning. After knowing about the protest MLA Benake rushed to the protesting venue which made the officials of L and T company to attend the situation.

As MLA Benake repeated his warning of ‘tying and beating” the officials to trees if not supplied scheduled water, protesting women told the MLA that they want water, not other things.

Quoting officials, MLA Benake said water supply system would be streamlined once the repair work corrected.
