The Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu had chaired the SCO (Shanghai Cooperation Organization) Council of Heads of Government Meeting via video-conference today.

Addressing the virtual meet he said the biggest challenge that the region is facing right now is terrorism, and said the elimination of this threat will help it realize its true potential including in the economic sphere.

He highlighted over the issues of cross-border terrorism and gave a call for combating the menace through a collective approach. Referring clearly to Pakistan he said we are particularly concerned over states that leverage terrorism as an instrument of state policy. The most important challenge faced by us is terrorism, particularly cross-border terrorism and said the elimination of the terror threat will help the region realize its true potential.
