Former Minister SR Morey died at SDM Medical College and Hospital at Dharwad on Thursday morning. He was 82. He died on his 82nd birthday.

A few days ago Morey was admitted at the hospital for illness. The four-time MLA was cooperative minister in Bangarappa and Local Bodies minister in N Dharam Singh government.
