Prohibitory Order Surrounding Rayanna Grave at Nandgad

Expecting people in large number to pay tribute to Krantiveer Sangolli Rayanna who was hanged to death on this day at Nandgad town in Khanapur taluk, the government, has imposes prohibitory order under IPC section 144 surrounding the grave on Wednesday.

There was a disturbance of law and order in the state over few antisocial elements had damaged the full-sized statue of Rayanna in Angol in the middle of last month. Based on this the government expecting large number of people to visit place to pay tribute, government imposed the prohibition from 6am to 6pm.

Rayanna and a few soldiers of Kittur Rani Channamma were caught by British and were hanged to big banyans tree outskirt of the town on Jan 26. Fortunately, Rayanna was born on Independence day of the nation on Aug 15, hanged on Republc day on Jan 26, in 1800 century.
