Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Dharwad on March 12 and inaugurate IIT, Jal Jeevam Mission, and Jayadeva Hospital said Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai.
He told reporters here on Friday that whenever the PM visited the State, he had been releasing grants for the much-needed basic infrastructure projects, because of which many projects are ready for dedication to the people. Fresh works are also started. In the last few years, Modi has made a big contribution to state and inter-state infrastructure facilities and released the maximum funds for national highways, railways, ports, and for other institutions. All of them have been dedicated to the people. These are all the fruits of the help in the last five years.
To make IIT number one
The CM said funds had been released in a phased manner to IIT, Dharwad which is a prestigious institution. Plans are afoot to make it the country’s number-one institution. Dharwad is the city of Goddess Saraswati and the establishment of the IIT is most appropriate.
Replying to a question, Bommai said the development of Belikeri port will be taken up under the Sagarmaala scheme. As many as 12 projects will be implemented after getting the approval from Government of India. Expression of Interest has been invited for the execution of two projects in the PPP model.
