Condemning the issuing of cast certificate as Veerashaiva Lingayat, the Swamiji of Shunya Sampadana Mutt, Murugharajendra and his disciples held a protest at Gokak.

The protestors led by the swamiji went hiking till the Tahsildar office from the Basavesvara Cirlce and appealed him about their request.

The Swamiji appealed as till 2002 the from revenue dept. the issuing the Lingayat cast certificates used to take place, but on the demands of some Mutt Administrators the irrelevant word Veerashaiva is being added to the caste certificate. It is an injustice. Not all in the caste are rich because of the word the community is losing facilities of the govt. So the word should be removed from the caste certificate.

If not removed the word soon then it will lead to a huge protest.
