Bengaluru right place for scientific development and use of science: CM Bommai

Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai said Bengaluru is the right place for the scientific development and the use of science. All technologies including IT/BT and Artificial Intelligence are getting new dimensions in Karnataka.
Speaking after laying the foundation stone for the new building of ‘Exide” Energy Solution Limited here on Tuesday, he said the state has a system of using all modern technologies together as well as a conducive atmosphere. The Exide company has to focus on providing employment to local people. The government has established Skill Development Training Centers to impart training in modern technology to youths. The families that have given land for the construction of buildings must be given jobs in the company.
Karnataka Number 1 in innovations
Bommai said the record Foreign Direct Investment was coming to Karnataka as it has 400 world-class R&D centres and 400 fortune companies. Karnataka has bagged first rank in the field of innovations as per Niti Ayog. India is the fifth nation in the world to manufacture the Cryogenic Engines that are used in rockets. Today, the foundation stone was laid for the cryogenic engines manufacturing unit at HAL and it was a matter of pride for the State.

Battery manufacturing unit in Bengaluru
The CM said battery plays an important role in the storage of electricity and transmission. It was required to store the energy produced from the solar energy and converted into renewable energy. The battery is an important component in Electric vehicles. The Exide company has made a good name in the world and the cellulose technology to solar electric power is relevant today. It was an honour that such a technology company has come to Karnataka to set up a 12 Gigabyte capacity battery manufacturing unit in Bengaluru.
Leading producer of renewable energy
Bommai said “Karnataka is the most progressive state and has implemented policies in energy, EV, Aerospace, R&D, Employment and Defense Research. Besides, it is a leading state in the manufacture of renewable energy and produces the country’s 50 per cent of the energy. We are meeting the challenges in the storage of renewable energy”.
One nation, one grid
He said the country, which is self-sufficient in energy, will progress. A lot of developments will take place in this field in the coming days. The policy of one nation, one grid will be implemented in the country to have connectivity across the country. The storage of electricity is also very essential and the Exide company will play a major role in it. The government will give all kinds of cooperation to the battery manufacturing unit of the Exide Company, he noted.
