Share

Bengaluru, March.23:  Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai said it is possible to build a good society if work is respected.

Speaking after launching the Swami Vivekananda Yuva Shakti scheme, Amrutha Swabhimani Shepherd scheme, and Vidyanidhi scheme for autorickshaw and cab drivers’ children here on Thursday, he said Swami Vivekananda said “All power is within you; you can do anything and everything”. Nothing is impossible if there are constant efforts. These schemes have been implemented to encourage working. Under the Swami Vivekananda scheme, 12,000 youth associations will be formed, impart training, help them in production, marketing, bank loan assistance, and make them self-employed. The hands of youth must not fetch for help but they must give. Such a scheme never existed in any other state. If the unemployed youths in rural areas form groups and start production it will help in the progress of the State. The rural youth must not sit idle and they must be given education and employment. By working, they develop good character.

Stree Samarthya

To make the women’s capacity useful to the nation, the CM said the Stree Samarthya scheme has been implemented. In the first installment, Rs 50,000 has been given to 10,000 women groups and they will get another Rs 50,000 in the second installment. Already, money had been directly transferred to the bank accounts of 20,000 groups. The members are not only trained but also given financial assistance. In the state budget 2023-24, Rs 1000 will be given to each woman every month and this scheme has started. This shows the government’s commitment to the last man in society.

Vidyanidhi scheme

Bommai said the autorickshaw drivers work day and night and there are around 2.5 lakh drivers in the State and everyone has been covered under insurance. Around 15,000 children of autorickshaw drivers will be benefited from this scheme. Similarly, Rs 2500 and Rs 11,000 is given to every student who takes admission into school/college respectively. Work must bring facilities to family. The government’s heart melts for the working classes because of which this scheme has been implemented. The girl children of autorickshaw drives must study well to become IAS/IPS officers. Rs 355 crore has been earmarked for the Shepherds and each person is given Rs 1.31 lakh to buy 20 sheep and a goat. This year, 20,000 shepherds have taken benefit of this scheme.

“I am in this position due to your blessings. My dream of building a self-respect Karnataka with the blessings of the citizens has become reality in the last one and a half years. The Vidyanidhi scheme has benefitted 11 lakh children of farmers, fishermen, and weavers”, the CM said.
Youth Empowerment and Sports Minister K.C.Narayanagowda, Animal Husbandry Minister Prabhu Chavan, Higher Education Minister Dr.C.N.Ashwath Narayana, MLA Rizwan Arshad, and others were present.
