Unable to repay the loan obtained from financial institutions and handloan from people due to crop loss, farmer Hanumant Murachatti from Ingali village in Chikkodi taluk allegedly ended his life by hanging to the ceiling at his house on Tuesday.
To cultivate the land, Hanumant had obtained a few lakh rupees loan from financial institutions and handloan from people, however depressed with the loss of the crop with floods to the Krishna river. The crop he had grown spoiled due to excess water. The 40-year-old was staying in a house constructed in his field where he ended his life when other members of the family were out.
