Free Smart Phones to Govt School Students

Bengaluru : With an intention that none of its student are deprived of online education, the Karnataka government has proposed to provide free Smart Phones and internet connections to every student who don’t have access to them.

As one of the recent surveys stated that 31 lakh of 91 lakh studying in government schools between grade 1 to 10 do not have smart phones to study through online classes. The government has proposed to take the financial help, donation from the business class, NGOs, social organisations to avail these students the required help.

The survey said that the state has 93,01,805 students out of which 31,27,524 students do not have smart phones and 37,79,965 students do not have internet connectivity in their natives. Since, the government is also educating students through Televisions and Radios, 8 lakh students do not have that facility at their home.

Education department conducting online classes, says no one can say how long all this will continue. However, keeping the future of the students in mind, government has decided to provide smart phones and internet connections to every students who lack of these in order to ensure that students are being provided education like every other student from private schools.
