After newly being formed as taluk the taluk panchayat of Kagwad has been embraced by the BJP by the allotment of the President and the Vice President to the BJP candidates. By allotment of both the positions to the woman candidate the new history has been created.

Monday an election for the appointment of the president and vice president was held, at the new taluk there were 9 candidates out of which 1 has died, and the election was held among the rest 8 candidates. Jugul TP member Krishnabai Bandu Nandyal and has been appointed as the president with 6 votes and Katral TP member Shobha Sukhdev Bandgar has been elected as the vice president without any opposition.
