As the one-km road between Masthamaradi and Tarihal got damaged within a month of carpeting newly and got damaged again even after about two months of patch-ups, the people at Tarihal protested when the civil engineers and contractor had gone for another ‘patch-up’ on Saturday, Aug 28.

Tarihal residents said that despite brought to the notice of poor quality of work, while the work was in progress, the civil engineers were not responded. The newly carpeted road was damaged not even in month and it was ‘repaired’ with patch work, which too didn’t worked out.

They said the engineers and contractor tried to pacify them saying they would lay patch work now and carpet the road newly in two months, however, they were not allowed knowing it was not possible and have urged the Assistant Executive Engineer to reply on the matter and add the contractor to the Black List and action against the engineers supervised and certified the sub-standard work.
