India’s PV Sindhu created history after she won a Bronze at the Tokyo Olympics on Sunday. Sindhu became the first Indian woman ever to win two Individual Olympics medals and Indian boxer Lovlina Borgohain secured the second medal for India as she advanced to the semi-finals of the women’s welterweight category.
Shuttler Sindhu defeated China’s He Bing Jiao 21-13, 21-15 to win the Bronze match. Sindhu had won a silver medal at the 2016 Rio Olympics. Earlier, at the Tokyo Olympics, Sindhu lost to Tai Tzu Ying. Sindhu has claimed medals in all big-ticket events in the last five years.
While, the 23-year-old boxer from Assam beat Chinese Taipei’s Chen Nein-Chin by a split decision. Lovlina will become the second Indian woman after the legendary Mary Kom to win the Olympic medal. Congratulatory messages poured in for the boxer
