Since decades the Gokak municipality had been the bastion of the Congress but for the first with the technicality of the Minister Ramesh Jarkiholi the keys of the Municipality Administration have been won by the BJP.

Jayanand Hunchyali as a president and the Basavraj Aarennavar as the vice president have unanimously been elected and with the efforts of the Minister Ramesh Jarkiholi they have joined the BJP. With this technicality the administration keys of the Gokak Municipality have been grabbed by the BJP from the Congress.
