RBI Twitter Handle has hit a World Record with over 1 Million followers. Beating the world’s most powerful banks despite the much less firepower, the Reserve Bank of India has become the first monetary authority in the world to have more than 1 million followers on its official Twitter handle.

Till this Sunday, the RBI handle is being followed by as many as 10,00,513 people around the world and the number is yet raising. This achievement becomes impressive as the 85-year-old Reserve Bank has also lately stepped into the world of Twitter as it created its twitter account only in January 2012.

Taking to the twitter the Governor, Reserve Bank of India Shaktikanta Das congratulating the staff has wrote as RBI Twitter account reaches one million followers today. A new milestone. Congratulations to all my colleagues in RBI.
