A strong oppose is being shown to the statements of the BJP MLA Basangaouda Patil regarding the establishment of the Maratha Development authority. Some organizations have not just held a protest but also tried to burn the replica of the MLA.

Condemning this and the call of Karnataka Bandh the supporters of Basangouda Patil Yatnal held a massive protest in front of Siddeshwar Temple at Vijaypur. Various Kannada pro organizations as well as the Dalit pro organizations had actively participated in the protest. The protesters that held the flags of Kannada and Maratha uttered oblations of Kannada and Hindu.

Speaking by the time President of Swami Vivekananda Militia Raghav Annigeri warned the protester of Narayan Gouda Sept as will not sit quite if anything done against their love MLA Basangouda Patil. He made various funs on the local leader as well as the other leaders of the sept. Asking as what wrong the MLA has stated he clarified it as the statements by the MLA are pro the Karnataka Marathas and the Kannada/Karnataka loving Marathas. He openly challenged the leaders to perform Bandh at Vijaypur if have guts.
