Tumakuru : Madhugiri Sub Registrar Ramachandrappa who was caught red-handed by the ACB with the bribe of Rs 4,000 he received to register a gift-deed has been sentenced to 4year imprisonment and slapped fine of Rs 8,000.

The Principal District and Sessions Court No. 7 at Tumakuru found the charges levelled by ACB against the officers were true and declared him a corrupt.

A person, through his own willing had donated his land to a person, however, the officer had demanded the bribe to register and transfer the land. As not willing to pay the bribe, the donor had complained with the ACB and gave the bribe as per their direction
