A tourist from Hanagal taluk in north Karnataka washed away in the sea at Om Beach of Arabian sea at Gokarna in Kumata taluk of Karwar district on Saturday, Aug 21. The person washed away in the sea has been identified as 35-year-old Kumar Shekappa Kamati, he was dragged inside by the sea when he was taking his selfie by standing on the boulders at the shore.

Kumar was one among the 12-member tourists’ group arrived to the beach. He fell down when he was taking selfie making his back as face to the sea when a strong storm hit to the shore and dragged him inside the sea.
