Uttar Kannada : An employee attached to Naval base at Uttar Kannada district (Karwar) drowned at Arabian sea at Belekeri in Ankola taluk in the district on Sunday.

Purandar Shivanand Naik was the deceased. Since Sunday was holiday for him, he and few of his friends had been to fishing at sea at Belekeri in a small boat. He accidentally fell from the boat into the sea and couldn’t seen for sometime and lster was traced when Ankola police, Coastal Guards and locals searched for him.
