Kannada Film Producer Shashikumar held for kidnapping an Onion merchant for ransom. Shashikumar who produced movie ‘Half Mental’, used filmy style to kidnap.

Shashikumar, along with three others observed the movements merchant Shrinivas for a week and kidnapped him clsiming themselves as from Income Tax department and through the latter told his family to give them Rs 50 lakh to free him.

As Shrinivas family did not paid the ransom they beat and freed him near Mekri circle. A case was registered with Mahalaxmi Layout police. Police arrested the gang which confessed to committing the crime. Film producer Shashikumar told they observed keen the routine travel history for about a week and kidnapped for ransom.
