Suspecting – Parents Discrimination in Showing Love and Affection Among the Siblings – A 17-year-old girl from Chitradurga in Karnataka poisoned four members of her family to death. The incident occurred at Isamudra village in Chitradurga taluk on July 12 and the report from Forensic Laboratory which submitted on Sunday stated there was poison (pesticide) in the Ragi Mudde (Ragi Ball) which caused for the death.
The girl, during interrogation confessed to the crime stating – she was treated badly by her parents, they used to shout and sent to the daily wage work, while they were loving, affectionately her siblings – which hurt her and made her to feel jealous.
For dinner she cooked Ragi Mudde, beans curry and rice. She allegedly mixed pesticide in the Ragi wheat and made the balls. She fed the food to everyone and she just ate rice and the beans curry. Her father Tippanayak, 45, mother Sudhabai, 43, sister Ramya, 16 and grandmother Gundibai who ate the poisoned food died on the spot while her brother Rahul, 18, who also ate the Ragi Mudde survived at the hospital.
She told police that she ate just rice and curry as her stomach was disturbed that day. Suspected on her statement for not eating the Ragi Mudde, police continued her inquiry where she disclosed the truth.
As minor by age, the accused girl has detained and remanded to girls Remand Home
