Action plans for various welfare programmes worth over Rs28,000 cr under the SCSP/ TSP programme were cleared on Friday at the SC, ST State Development Council meeting chaired by Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai.
Speaking to media persons after the meeting Bommai said, the meeting took stock of the utilisation of allocations of last year and funds remaining unspent. Some of the programmes were cleared with some modifications and most of the programmes were approved without any changes.
Allocation for Social Welfare department has been raised by Rs500 cr, the Rs851 cr grant for Agriculture department has been increased to Rs1061 cr, the grant for Horticulture department has been increased to Rs187 cr from the earlier Rs142 cr, the grant for Health department has been hiked to Rs1300cr from the previous year’s Rs899 cr, Bommai said.
The amount reserved for pensions in the Revenue department has been raised to Rs3748 cr from Rs2900cr.
Free Bus Pass
A sum of Rs20 cr has been allocated for development of places visited by Dr BR Ambedkar in the state. It has been decided to issue free bus passes for SC, ST community students, Bommai said.
