Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao on Tuesday, Aug 17, announced cash gift of Rs 10 lakh to each dalit family in the state under “Dalit Bandhu Schene”.

Speaking after launching the programme at Karim nagar district, he said the state has about 17 lakh dalit families which all would be given the one-time amount so that they can use for the financial requirements. The sum will be deposted in the bank accounts were no one need to pay back a single rupee. Government would cost Rs 1.80 lakh crore for the scheme which would be completed in next three years. Rs 30,000 crore, Rs 40,000 crore would be kept for the scheme in every budget.

All the dalit families even were government  employees will get the amount, apart from rest other social security pension schemes would continue, the chief minister said.
